Chicago Title Celebrates Record-breaking Year - 12/10/1998

CHICAGO--December 10, 1998--Chicago Title is reaping the benefits of this year's exceptional real estate market, expecting to complete nearly 70 percent more closings than in 1997. Today, Chicago Title celebrated their record-breaking year with a 100,000th closing extravaganza. Juanita Amartey, a first-time buyer purchasing property in Dearborn Village, located in the south Loop, was the lucky participant in the 100,000th closing. Amartey received red carpet service, including a limousine ride to and from the closing, the waiving of closing fees, and gifts to commemorate the occasion. Local vendors joined Chicago Title in welcoming Amartey to the south Loop with gift certificates and donated products. Supporting businesses included: Nestle, Jacobs Bros. Bagels, the Auditorium Theatre, Shedd Aquarium, Ashland-Addison Florists, Chicago Hilton & Towers, The Chicago White Sox, Bravo Restaurants, the Near South Planning Board, Printers Row Restaurant and Artists Cafe. Chicago Title also presented Amartey with a $1000 gift certificate to Sears during a special presentation featuring Chicago Title CEO John Rau, Senior Vice President and Eastern Division Manager Christopher Abbinante, and Vice President and Regional Manager Stat Geer. Completing this record-setting year would not have been possible without the tremendous dedication of our employees and the support of our customers, said Geer. This event is really a tribute to them. At year's end, Chicago Title expects to have surpassed its previous closing volume record, set in 1993, by more than 25 percent. In connection with the event, Chicago Title released a sneak preview of its 1998 Chicago metro Home Buyers Survey. This annual survey offers an inside look at the trends and figures that highlighted this record-setting year in the real estate industry. Chicago Title Insurance Company provides title products, field services, foreclosure and reconveyance services, and valuation, credit and flood certification. The company serves its clients through 27 offices in the Chicago metropolitan area.
